Availability of Notary services is dependent on the availability of our Notary Public staff.
No appointment is necessary, but please call ahead at 248-893-4010.
What to bring
Unsigned document(s). Documents must be signed in front of the notary.
Valid drivers license, passport, or state issued personal identification card. Government issued photo identification must be provided by all signers.

Notaries are regulated by Michigan law.
Persons seeking notaries are responsible for knowing their document and where to sign.

Library notary staff does not offer electronic/digital notary services and cannot notarize the following:
Real Estate Transactions: Mortgages, Deeds, Closing Documents, etc.
I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification forms
Michigan Vital Records: Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce (these are done by State and County officials)
Documents written in a language other than English
Provide a Medallion signature guarantee stamp (these are done through a financial institution participating in the Medallion program)
Library notaries reserve the right to decline any document for any reason.
