Friends of the Library Newsletter – Fall 2022
The Friends of the Library are an active group of volunteers whose mission is to provide support for the services and programs of the Livonia Public Library. Volunteers meet this mission by helping with Library programs, events and fund raising efforts.
Funds are raised by the Friends in three ways:
- Membership dues
- The Friends Used Book Store
- The Used Book Sales

Become a Member
Although membership dues are nominal, the benefits achieved are immeasurable. To encourage more individuals and families to join, dues have not increased much since the Friends incorporated in 1978.
Annual membership dues:
- Individual $5
- Family $10
- Benefactor $25
- Patron $50
- Club or Association $25
- Business and Professional $25

The Friends Used Book Store
The Friends Used Book Store
Started by the Friends in June 2006, the Used Book Store is a fund-raising effort staffed by volunteers to provide ongoing sale of items donated to the library.
The Friends Used Book Store in the Bennett Civic Center Library is open:
Monday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tuesday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Programs
Special programs are announced in the Friends newsletter and are noted on the Calendar of Events. Flyers for upcoming programs are also made available within the library.
